MOVE FROM PROMOTIONS TO ENGAGEMENT

This session provides a 30,000 foot view of engagement, and introduces 7 guidelines to keep in mind as you strive to develop more engaging initiatives.  This presentation lasts 45 minutes to an hour, and can be done in person, or via a webinar or teleconference.

The following sessions expand on each of the guidelines.  Sessions or workshops can be designed to create an experience that meets your needs.

SESSIONONE
 KNOW WHAT BUSINESS YOU’RE IN

It seems obvious, but not every organization is clear on what their mission, vision and strategy are.  Clearly defining these drives everything, so in this session, we work through filling in the gaps.  This can be a shorter “fine-tuning” session, lasting only an hour, or if the need is there, we’ll create a half-day workshop to nail down this critical piece.

SESSION2
EVERYTHING MIRRORS  STRATEGY

Do all your efforts tell the same story?  If you think of your “strategy” as a filter that different initiatives meet (or don’t meet) you are better able to cut a clear path to success — and keep your team focused.  In this session, we do an assessment of all of your listener “touch points” and hold up the mirror!

SESSIONthree
KNOW WHAT MAKES HER TICK

“Engagement” is about the individuals in your audience, and what’s important to them.  You need to know what’s important to her, and the language around those issues that will resonate with her.  In this session, we discuss what you know, what you THINK you know, and what you need to find out.

SESSIONfour
THE CALENDAR IS NOT KING

“Work smarter, not harder.”  Too many organizations think that by constantly being “out there” they are building engagement.  Or they think that just because it’s National Pork Rind day, they need to acknowledge/celebrate/build an activity around it.  Not so.  There’s a good chance you’re exhausting your team, and confusing your audience!

SESSIONfive
STRATEGY DRIVES TECHNOLOGY

Yes, the iPhone is WAY cool.  But do you need an app for that?  Every other station in your market “tweets.”  Like crazy.  Does that mean you should?  How do you decide what new technologies to adopt and which to ignore?

SESSIONsix
MONEY FOLLOWS MINISTRY

Engagement is about relationships.  And relationships take time.  While some initiatives may produce a quick influx of dollars, unless there’s a real relationship there, you’ll be spinning your wheels to generate new revenue all the time.  “Ministry” IS relationship.  It takes longer to foster, but the results last longer.

SESSIONseven
STICK WITH LOW BARRIER / HIGH IMPACT

Initiatives that are high on the emotional scale, and low on the effort scale can really pay off.  Sometimes, all it takes is a simple tweak to an initiative that’s missing one of those elements.  In this session, we do an audit of previous or planned promotions, and talk about possible tweaks.
